Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and schedules. Develop detailed work plans and allocate resources effectively. Coordinate with other trades and departments to ensure timely completion of outfitting tasks.
2. Outfitting Work Supervision: Supervise a team of outfitting technicians and craftsmen, providing guidance, support, and training as needed. Monitor work progress, ensuring adherence to project plans and quality standards. Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with design specifications, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
3. Outfitting Installation: Oversee the installation of outfitting components and systems, such as joinery, furniture, insulation, HVAC systems, electrical and lighting fixtures, and plumbing. Ensure accurate fitting, alignment, and integration of outfitting elements with the overall structure. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly to maintain high-quality standards.
4. Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality assurance procedures throughout the outfitting process. Conduct inspections and tests to verify the functionality, durability, and aesthetics of outfitting work. Identify and resolve quality issues, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective actions and prevent future occurrences.
5. Safety and Compliance: Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all outfitting personnel. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety procedures. Conduct regular safety meetings and provide training to ensure awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
6. Material Management: Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure the timely availability of outfitting materials, equipment, and tools. Maintain inventory records, track material usage, and manage waste disposal in an environmentally responsible manner. Recommend improvements in material selection and utilization to optimize project costs and efficiency.
7. Progress Reporting: Generate regular progress reports, including milestone achievements, challenges faced, and any deviations from the planned schedule or budget. Communicate effectively with project managers, stakeholders, and clients to provide updates on outfitting work and address any concerns or queries.
8. Team Leadership: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide leadership and mentorship to the outfitting team, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and continuous skill development. Recognize and reward outstanding performance, and address performance issues through coaching and corrective actions when necessary.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or vocational training in outfitting or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as an Outfitting Supervisor in the shipbuilding, construction, or similar industry.
• In-depth knowledge of outfitting techniques, materials, and processes.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, such as classification society rules and safety codes.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and resource allocation.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Solid understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
